How do I get started?
It all happens online. Fill out the free estimate form, or give us a call at (817) 618-3159. Next, if the vehicle qualifies, you'll be sent a short application to finish. It asks you to upload:
- Your title
- A photo ID
- Your insurance and registration
- A few photos of the vehicle
- Something that proves your income
- Something that shows your address, such as a utility bill
Once you're approved, you e-sign the loan agreement. Your money then goes out by wire, check or direct deposit.
Do I need to take my car anywhere?
No. Nobody looks at it in person. You take pictures with your phone and send them in: the outside, the inside, the odometer and the VIN.
Can I keep driving my car?
Yes. Keep up with your payments and the car stays with you. The lender goes on your title as the lienholder until you pay the loan off. Then the lender comes off.
How is my vehicle's value worked out?
Mileage, year, make and model give a starting value. Trim, options and the shape it's in can push that up or down. Describe your vehicle closely and send sharp photos, and your estimate will be more accurate.
I have bad credit. Can I still get a title loan?
You may. Your vehicle backs the loan, so what it's worth carries more weight than your score. A lender may still look at your credit, and you'll need to show the payments fit your budget.
What if my car isn't paid off yet?
In most cases it needs to be, with your name on the title and no other lender listed. If you're still making payments on it, say so on the estimate form. A lender may still be able to help.
Is there a penalty for paying early?
No, there's no prepayment penalty. Pay a little extra or clear the whole balance early, and you'll just pay less interest.
What if I can't make a payment?
Call your lender right away, before the due date if you can. Many will work with you on a new date. You may owe a late fee. And because your vehicle secures the loan, if you keep missing payments, the lender can repossess it. Borrow only an amount you're sure you can pay back.
Is a title loan better than a bank loan?
It depends. A title loan is usually quicker and asks for less than an unsecured loan from a bank. That can help if a bank has already said no. But title loans often cost more. Before you sign, check the APR and the total of payments.
Do I pay anything to use Title Loan Hero?
No. Asking for an estimate is free, and you're never obligated to take an offer. We're not a lender. We connect you with lenders who may be able to help. We may be paid by lenders and advertisers.
Is my information safe?
Your details are encrypted while they travel to us. We share them only in the ways our Privacy Policy describes. That includes lenders and the companies that help process your request.
What can I use the money for?
Personal needs, like a car repair, a medical bill, a late utility bill or rent, or paying down other debt. The money is meant for personal, family and household use.
